Front foot drive
I was surprised that I got "The Player's Player of the year" award for 2023 season with my club. I thought my best was yet to come in the season as I was getting into terms with being an opener coping with the seam and swing and enthusiasm of the opposite team when fresh but the second half of the season was completely washed off. Nonetheless, I played quite a few front foot drives which I was never able to keep on the ground previously and was probably the result of indoor cricket where you have to hit all along the floor to get 6 runs. The indoor cricket is completely different but at least helps me keeping the eye on the ball during the dull off-season. I also learnt the new shot (front foot drive) playing indoor cricket which was a bonus. Although at my age, it all happens naturally now but recently saw a coaching post about moving the head first towards the ball while driving and it might help further in keeping the ball down. Will see if I could find the video and post it here.
